The medical receptionist in our centralized call center plays a crucial role by serving as the first point of contact for patients seeking appointments with our providers across multiple locations. This full-time position involves answering calls, scheduling appointments, communicating patient needs, and ensuring a positive first impression for patients.
Job Duties:
- Greet patients/customers in a polite, prompt, helpful manner.
- Assist patients or customers with appointment scheduling, rescheduling, and cancellation requests
- Adheres to established scheduling protocols and procedures.
- Obtain accurate and up to date demographic information.
- Instruct patient of appointment expectations.
- General office duties such as answering the telephone, taking messages, scanning, copying, and faxing.
- Reviews all incoming correspondence and referrals and routes appropriately.
- Maintain work area in a clean, safe, and organized manner.
- Follow HIPAA regulations, Joint Commission standards, other regulatory and compliance rules and regulations, and hospital policies and procedures.
