St. John's Lutheran Community is looking for an Assistant Culinary Manager that enjoys all the aspects of serving seniors and their dining experience.

Expected Hours :   37.5 / week                                                                                                                                                                                                      Shift :   10 : 00-6 : 00, hours may vary as needed. Every other weekend and holiday rotation

POSITION SUMMARY :

Assists Culinary Manager to maintain a healthy and pleasurable dining experience for the residents / tenants by overseeing the staff, food supplies, equipment and materials needed in the most effective and efficient manner.

REQUIRED SKILLS :

  • Must have cooking experience, prefer two years.
  • Must be Safe Serve Certified or willing to go through the training.
  • Desire to work with seniors and people with disabilities.
  • Good communication skills; working closely with other departments, especially nursing, vendors, family members and residents / tenants.
  • Positive and Good Customer Service attitude.
  • Must be flexible and willing to do any job in the dietary department.
  • Able to read, write and understand the English language.

    • ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

  • Work with the Culinary Manager to oversee that nutritional and dietary needs of the residents / tenants are being met and within the assigned budget.
  • Help training of staff and audits kitchens.
  • Understands and can work in each area of the dietary department as needed.
