Job Summary
St. Joseph's School is seeking a dedicated, organized, and personable School Secretary to join our team. The School Secretary will manage day-to-day administrative tasks, serve as a welcoming face for students, parents, and visitors, and support the principal and faculty. This role requires a balance of confidentiality, professionalism, and a deep commitment to our school’s Catholic mission.
Duties
- Greet and assist students, parents, visitors, and staff in a warm and professional manner
- Answer phone calls, manage emails, and handle other communication tasks
- Maintain accurate student records and files, including attendance and enrollment data
- Assist with scheduling, event planning, and communication for school activities
- Support teachers and staff with administrative tasks as needed
- Handle confidential information with discretion and integrity
- Order and manage school supplies and other resources
- Collaborate with school administration to ensure smooth daily operations
- Foster a positive and faith-centered environment
- Administer medication and follow all diocesan protocols
Skills
- High school diploma or GED (required); Associate’s degree or higher preferred
- Previous experience in a secretarial or administrative role, preferably in a school setting
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with office software, such as Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
- Familiarity with Catholic values and a commitment to upholding the school’s mission
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
