The Food Service Assistant responsibilities are to prepare, cook, and serve meals for clients and staff and to maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining area. To ensure kitchen and dining area are stocked and maintained.

What do we need?

Essential Functions:
- Cooking meals for staff and clients per planned menu, with good presentation
- Consistently maintaining excellent sanitary conditions
- Keeping appropriate records as instructed
- Following proper food service regulations
- Ensuring that established sanitation and safety standards are maintained for kitchen and dining room areas
- Serving meals and clean dining area after meal periods.
- Cleaning kitchen areas to maintain regulated sanitary conditions.
- Assisting in restocking, rotating, and keeping track of inventory of food and supplies.
- Maintaining food storage and temperature charts.
- Ensuring excellent and friendly customer service is provided to all staff and clientele
- Other duties as assigned
- Promoting the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) process by identifying opportunities for improvement
- Attending and participates in administrative/staff/committee meetings/trainings as required and assigned by agency
- Within departmental parameters, exhibits customer service, decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Effectively prioritize and coordinates job tasks for maximum productivity
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 1-year experience in food preparation
- Louisville Metro Government Sanitation Course for Food Service
- Standing for up to 8 hours
