Part Time - Pastoral Care Assistant - Saint Joseph Living Center
Saint Joseph Living Center is proud to be a non-profit, 120-bed Skilled Nursing Facility located in Windham, CT. We offer short-term rehabilitation, long-term care, and end-of-life care. We are a Catholic faith-based community sponsored by the Diocese of Norwich, but we welcome residents and staff of all faiths. The Center features both indoor and outdoor amenities, including a Chapel with daily mass and a beautiful enclosed courtyard.
Summary of Position
The Pastoral Care Assistant is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the provision of chapel services to Residents of St. Joseph Living Center as appropriate.
We are seeking a Pastoral Care Assistant to join our team.
Hours
This is a part-time position with a schedule of Mondays 9am-12pm, Wednesdays 9am-12pm and Every Other Weekend 9am-1pm.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare the altar and chapel for Mass and clean up afterwards
- Assist Residents to/from the Chapel (including pushing wheelchairs)
- Prepare daily rosary to be played at 10:30 am
- Conduct readings during Mass
- Play/select appropriate music during Mass
- Continually monitor residents during services for safety issues
- Observe safety and security procedures
- Document resident participation in religious services
- Conduct and document Audits as required
- Offer Communion to Residents who do not attend Mass (room to room)
- Honor and maintain confidentiality including following all rules of HIPAA
Qualifications
Must be a Eucharistic Minister
