Job Title: Mail Messenger
Department: General Office
Reports To: Assistant to the Executive Director
FLSA Status: Nonexempt – 12 month position
Salary Grade: 3B ($12.00-$13.81-$15.61)/hr.
Approved Date: 07/01/2022
SUMMARY
Provides safe and efficient transport of mail to business establishment. Operates postage metering equipment and delivers messages, documents, packages, and other items throughout business establishment by performing the duties listed below.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:

Provides safe pickup of mail from the post office, including but not limited to general mail, trays and an array of packages.
Delivers mail after sorting to appropriate personnel across campus.
Secures mail tray delivery to Development Department from the post office.
Delivers U.S. Postal, UPS, and FedEx packages; includes clothing and miscellaneous donations and delivers to the Clothing Room.
Obtains receipts and provides internal tracking for articles delivered.
Operates metered postage equipment for outgoing campus mail. This includes weighing and comparing costs of services available (UPS, FedEx, USPS).
Applies cost center accounting codes for all postage applied.
Services mail van, such as checking fluid levels, replenishing fuel, and cleaning the interior and exterior of vehicle on a regular basis.
Ensures mail security policies are followed at all times.
Assists other departments as time permits.
- Runs additional errands as requested.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS

Applicant must have a valid Montana Driver’s license, be able to lift up to 50 pounds safely and remain on their feet for a number of hours.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to six months related experience and/or training preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Criminal Background Check and valid Montana driver's license required.

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to prioritize tasks.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations with other employees.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees in other departments.

Valid Montana driver's license required.
