The Pharmacy 340B Specialist assists with the implementation, maintenance, auditing, and optimization of a compliant 340B program at all St. Luke’s facilities in conjunction with hospital or covered entity and pharmacy administration. This is a fully on-site position. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintains confidentiality of all materials handled within the Network/Entity as well as the proper release of information. Performs routine activities with minimal supervision, offers to provide additional help when needed, and participates in training of new employees. Develops a thorough understanding of the 340B Program. Strive to consistently improve the overall efficiency, value, and internal support of the 340B Program. Continues to build knowledge of the health care and pharmacy services industry and use that knowledge to identify ways and make recommendations to improve the 340B Program. Performs daily audits for all 340B Covered Entities reviewing qualified and non-qualified patients in the hospital mixed-use areas, outpatient locations and any other qualifying locations by reviewing all parameters as identified by the Network Pharmacy Business Manager and the Network Pharmacy 340B Coordinator. Performs daily audits for all 340B Covered Entities reviewing qualified and non-qualified patients in the Contract Pharmacy setting by reviewing all parameters as identified by the Network Pharmacy Business Manager and the Network Pharmacy 340B Coordinator. Ensures internal audit findings are addressed locally/regionally and shared with the Network 340B Coordinator and Network Pharmacy Business Manager. Maintains appropriate documentation for compliance and audit purposes. Ensures continued readiness for a HRSA audit at all SLUHN Covered Entities by staying up to date with current guidelines and regulations and involvement as designated in program maintenance functions. Assists with implementation, ongoing maintenance, standardization and consistent usage of split billing software aspects of the 340B program to ensure compliance and maximize savings. Works with Network 340B Coordinator to provide support for 340B Covered Entities and appropriate staff to ensure issues and concerns with the program or applicable software is properly addressed, tracked and completed. PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS: Sitting for up to six hours per day and up to two consecutive hours. Standing and walking for up to four hours per day and up to thirty consecutive minutes. Frequent fingering and handling. Occasionally lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling of objects weighing up to 35 pounds. Occasionally stooping and bending. Rarely crouching and reaching above shoulder level. Hearing as it relates to normal conversation, high and low frequency. Seeing as it relates to general vision, near vision, peripheral vision, and visual monotony. EDUCATION: Associate degree or equivalent experience required. TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Three years of total relevant health care experience, 2 previous years in hospital pharmacy setting, experience as a pharmacy buyer preferred, strong science background, knowledge of the metric system and good math skills. Prior experience working with hospital based 340B programs and report development preferred. Prior experience with split billing software and electronic medical record preferred. Ability to understand, apply and explain pertinent laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Data entry, analysis and reporting, Experience/skill in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint).
