The responsibilities of the Residential Care Manager in the Village of Hope Housing Program include instruction and supervision of residents in their daily activities, according to their individual needs and the goals of their individualized residential services plans. The Village of Hope is a temporary housing program for homeless adults in Bucks County who have been diagnosed with both a mental health and a substance abuse disorder. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides on-site coverage and assists in performing routine resident-care duties. Promotes a positive and supportive environment. Works closely with an assigned group of residents, providing support around the assessment of needs, the development of individualized and program goals, and coaching them as they progress on their goals and recovery. PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS: Good communication skills (both verbal and written) and positive interpersonal skills required. Sits, stands and walks for extended periods of time. Requires some light lifting. Potential for participation in therapeutic recreational activities. EDUCATION: Minimum high school diploma with additional education in the human services field. Associates or Bachelor's Degree in the human services field preferred. TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Valid Pennsylvania Driver's license required. One year of experience in a human services agency working with persons with mental health or substance use issues preferred; OR One year lived experience in mental health or substance use personal recovery.
