What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wound Care RN position at St. Mary of the Woods?
As part of our team, you assess wounds incurred through all areas of practice with our short term and long-term residents. Regular rounds with residents in your care, coordinate with supervising physicians, families and the Interdisciplinary Team. Educating residents and families on care practices and methods to promote wellness and healing. You must be a licensed registered nurse (RN) to be Qualifications:
Qualifications:
- Current RN licensure
- Wound care certification preferred
- Keeping data on all wound care and reporting.
- Supervision and directing wound care nurses in their delivery and provision of patient care.
- Notifying appropriate physician of changes in patient’s condition.
Main Job Responsibilities:
- Effective communication skills for interacting with physicians, families and staff
- Recent experience in a skilled environment as a wound care nurse with in-depth knowledge of treatment protocols, measuring wounds, documentation, etc.
- Provide wound care when needed and obtaining physician orders.
- Completes medical records documenting care provided and other information in accordance with nursing policies while maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Assure that established infection control and standard precaution practices are maintained when providing care.
- Collaborating with the Interdisciplinary Team at the Skin and Wound meetings and consulting with
- Supervision and directing nurses in their delivery and provision of patient care
- Implement physicians on recommendations treatment of wounds
