Part-time, 20 hours/week position; opportunity for hybrid remote following initial training period
Salary range $30 - $33/hour, commensurate with experience
St. Mary's Credit Union is seeking a proactive, team oriented, part-time HR Payroll Administrator working under the direction of the Human Resource Manager. The HR Payroll Administrator will administer HR policies and ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll and employee benefits.
HR Payroll Administrator Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of two years’ experience in a Human Resources Department; previous benefits administration is preferred
- Previous payroll processing experience; knowledge of ADP Workforce Now is preferred
- Demonstrated experience and expertise in exercising tact and judgment, maintaining a balanced perspective and objectivity, and maintaining confidentiality
- Superior verbal/written and presentation skills and knowledge of MS software
- Demonstrated comfort level with compiling statistical data is preferred
- Strong attention to detail
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Cooperative and teamwork mindset

HR Payroll Administrator Job Responsibilities
- Assists in the implementation, coordination and maintenance of HR policies, procedures and practices.
- Contributes to a positive work environment and SMCU image by maintaining courteous, respectful and effective interaction, teamwork and communication with employees and members to enhance positive behaviors and employee satisfaction.
- Process weekly payroll and resolves issues concerning payroll, answers inquiries and ensures compliance with all applicable state and federal wage and hours laws.
- Maintains the Human Resource Management System records and compiles reports and statistical data from the database and interprets such data into HR metrics.
- Responsible for the coordination and administration of all employee benefit programs.
- Assists in the coordination of the recruitment process for non-exempt positions to include developing sources of qualified applicants, conducting screening interviews, checking references, evaluating applicant qualifications, and presenting the offer to the most qualified candidate.
- Keeps current on trends in the Human Resources industry.
- Performs related administrative duties as may be assigned or requested.
