St. Mary's School in Simsbury is seeking a Middle School Classroom Assistant. Candidates must be willing to undergo a background check, fingerprinting, and complete Virtus training.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting the classroom teacher with daily activities in individual, small group, and whole class settings.
- Providing instruction to students in the absence of the regular teacher.
- Following lesson plans and ensuring educational activities are effectively carried out.
- Maintaining a positive classroom environment.
- Managing student behavior and enforcing school policies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills required:
- Experience working with children in a classroom or childcare setting.
- Understanding of childhood development principles and the ability to apply them in an educational setting.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
