Job Summary
The Quality Engineer is responsible for conducting design verification and validation of engineering work products to ensure compliance with industry and company technical standards. This role involves executing quality process reviews at key project milestones and providing feedback to the engineering team throughout the design processes. The Quality Engineer also manages the proper file and data management associated with engineering project deliverables. Additionally, this position requires overseeing the integration of lessons learned from project closeouts into technical specifications and future project requirements. Occasionally, the Quality Engineer may be tasked with supporting special projects related to research, data entry and analysis, and updating policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop and update corporate SOPs and internal standards.

Track industry standards and manage design reviews.

Manage departmental files and ensure database accuracy.

Identify quality issues with Construction and Operations departments and validate corrective actions.

Review equipment and materials test reports.
-
Support the qualification of new project equipment.

Lead cross-functional teams with minimal supervision.

Define and monitor quality management systems per company policies.

Earn peer respect to lead improvement initiatives.

Enhance system design efficiency during construction transitions and life cycle.

Ensure project designs meet stakeholder requirements.

Advocate for quality and continuous improvement practices across organization.

Support employee training on current and future quality systems.
QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in engineering required.

Excellent quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Working knowledge of engineering software and systems.
-
Ability to meet deadlines on multiple projects/programs.

Excellent interpersonal ability, including strong communication, facilitation, presentation, and organizational follow-up skills.

Understanding and working familiarity with current AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel software versions, as well as MS Office suite.

Minimum 1-3 years’ experience in a quality-related position in an engineering / construction environment.

Functional knowledge of Engineering & Construction processes.

Knowledge of AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 quality management system standards.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Conducts work in both a field-type environment and in a professional office setting with local travel to jobsites to conduct inspections.
Physical working conditions may involve the following:

Lifting up to 50 pounds.

Extended periods of sitting, walking, standing, reaching, and/or bending.

Extended periods of reading fine print on a computer or in paper-based format.
