Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Infection Preventionist

Duties

The LPN Infection Preventionist is responsible for evaluating resident care quality related to Healthcare Acquired Infections (HAI) and Community Acquired Infections (CAI). Key duties include:

• Collecting and analyzing HAI data, presenting findings, and recommending actions.
• Monitoring compliance with infection control standards and providing education to staff, residents, and families.
• Staying updated on public health advisories and serving as the on-site infection prevention coordinator for COVID-19.
• Developing and managing the Antibiotic Stewardship Program.
  
  

Qualifications include a current LPN license, CPR certification, specialized IPC training, and preferably experience with geriatrics. The role requires knowledge of infection control practices and the ability to make independent decisions while maintaining professional relationships and confidentiality.
