Your Opportunity
We are seeking an exceptionally talented, enthusiastic, and experienced Environmental Scientist with a keen interest in joining the environmental services team out of our Mequon, Wisconsin office. The ideal candidate is a passionate individual with a diverse background to assist our project teams with due diligence projects including Phase I/II environmental site assessments, wetland delineations, threatened and endangered species studies, natural resource permitting, erosion control and construction oversight, and other opportunities as needed. The candidate will work closely with project managers, other environmental scientists, and other environmental professionals to support the development and delivery of environmental studies for projects involving wind and solar electric generation facilities, wetland and stream restorations, electric transmission lines, natural gas pipelines, and other projects for private, municipal, state, and federal clients. This is a full-time (40 -hour work week) position. This position will be focused in the Midwest with future opportunities to work with other Stantec staff around the United States.

Your Key Responsibilities
- Perform and document field data collection activities (including oversight of subcontractors)
- Assist in the completion of project deliverables including Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments, wetland delineation reports, and reports for other natural resource studies.
- Participate in proposal preparation (work scope, task-level budgeting, cost estimates), may perform calculations, gather or review information, or prepare standard sections of proposals.
- Learn and follow standard operating procedures for work assigned
- Analysis and interpretation of environmental data
- Periodic travel/field work may be required for the purpose of leading field crews, performing environmental monitoring or site reconnaissance, or off-site meetings with clients, landowners, and/or regulatory agencies.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Proven record of technical writing experience
- Proficient in policies and procedures related to health and safety and applies these policies and procedures to their work
- Able to communicate technical information with clients, landowners, government regulators and agencies, as well as non-technical communication with the public
- Able to build strong relationships with key clients with respect to their technical area and the broader business objectives in their regions
- Able to build and maintain productive professional and personal networking relationships
- Able to effectively manage, lead, and complete tasks or projects in the field and office.
- Safe driving record and valid driver’s license required
Education and Experience
- Experience coordinating, implementing, and writing ASTM compliant Phase I ESAs for a wide range of property types including utility-scale renewable due diligence projects is required.
- Bachelor’s of Science degree (Geology, Biology, or related discipline) required.
- Current 40-hour HAZWOPR Training is strongly desired
- Experience with field data collector application (i.e. FieldMaps) and Arc GIS platform is strongly desired
- Familiarity with WDNR BRRTS database review
