Location: Houston, TX, 77036
Skills: Prior Law Enforcement, Prior Military, Supervisor, MUST HAVE ARMED LICENSE IN HAND! Must OBTAIN A TWIC CARD WITHIN 90 DAYS OF HIRE! MUST HAVE CLEAN BACKGROUND RECORD! Must HAVE CLEAN MOTOR VEHICLE RECORD!
Schedule: Thursday 10pm-6am, Friday 10pm-6am, Saturday 6pm-6am, Sunday 6pm-6am. Holidays falling on the schedule are expected to be worked.
Job Summary: Field Coaches focus on mid shifts, overnight shifts, and weekend shifts when the site supervisor is not on duty. They provide support to officers to ensure they have everything needed to perform their jobs to the best of their ability. Field Coaches are required to spend time with site officers, coaching performance improvement and fostering personal relationships to make them feel appreciated and part of a team. The Field Coaches main responsibilities are to conduct random inspections at all Star job sites, ensuring that officers are fully trained, carrying out their assigned duties are in full proper uniform and are awake, alert and know the post orders.
Specific Duties:
- Stop at a distance and observe the actions/movements/activities of officers – for a short period of time (5 minutes)
- Determine if job sites are staffed (coordinate with scheduler) – if not hold the post until relief arrives (Must reduce OT, if flex officer arrives, de-brief on basic Post Orders)
- Officer on site - Spend time reviewing and observing the following:
- Knowledge – Lighthouse reporting – Hourly Activity Logs, Tour Scans, Maintenance & Incident Reports
- Knowledge – Post Orders – Make sure date is current and if not, photograph and send to DOO; Review and quiz/coach officer’s understanding
- Observe the officer’s appearance – hair, nails, uniform, grooming, body odor, etc.
- Cleanliness/Order of Officer Building/Station
- If applicable inspect mode of transportation for cleanliness, appearance, fuel, oil, obvious damage, etc.
- Random Drug and Alcohol test – oral swabs, conducted by field coach, witness officers perform their own oral swab and place in tester.
- Complete “Report Card” on the above details; have officer review, sign and date – give a reward or warning
- Complete site inspection’s report
- Ask and “respond appropriately” if the Officer needs anything from Star to perform their job more effectively. Show concern. Let them know what can or cannot be done but always listen. If through personal observation there is anything that Star can provide the Officer that would help their performance and/or enjoy their job
- Confirm with the Officer their job satisfaction and need for training/coaching from Star. Do your best to provide what they need while on site. If not doable by you, the site supervisor, then report what is needed to the DOO.
- Complete detailed Incident Report immediately via If required – immediately call the DOO and make him aware of the incident and seek direction. Take pictures and include with report. Drug Test any Star Officer involved in the accident or incident.
- Make sure during each site visit that the “Red Alert” emergency contact names and numbers are visible and clearly posted inside each officer building or at the job site (replace as needed). On every visit, always review the “emergency alert” protocol with the site Officer.
- Always confirm the computer is working, the phone is charged and working and there is working power at the job site. (Report deficiencies as needed)
- Always drive in accordance with speed limit and operate “the rolling Star Billboard” in a courteous manner. Always operate your vehicle where other drivers are never offended.
- Keep the vehicle “clean” at all times; outside appearance must always reflect “positively” on Star. Report immediately any maintenance issues or body damage to the DOO. Properly maintain the interior of your vehicle at all times. Keep it wiped down and all debris/trash removed. NO smoking in the vehicle. Make sure the next operator of the vehicle receives it in an appropriate and clean condition. Always keep the vehicle with at least a ¼ tank of gas. Once it falls below ¼ full, fill the tank before your shift ends. Assure all gauges are reviewed and check at the beginning and end of your shift. Timely report any issues to the DOO. Check the status of the oil at least once every two weeks. Make sure oil and filter are changed every 5,000 miles.
- Return all keys and written reports to the Corporate office at the end of your shift. Never take the vehicle home, always return to the corporate office garage at the end of your shift. Review and maintain current license tag and safety inspection sticker as required by law.
- Always maintain an “outstanding and professional” appearance. You must set the example for all other officers. You set and model the appearance standard.
- New account start-ups – Field Coaches will be extra management on site for all new job starts. Will assist in QR code placement, Officer building/station set up, On-site training, etc.
- Immediate or Emergency Account Manpower – maybe required to staff for emergency coverage or temporary contracts. Keep your commissioned license updated and current at all times. Therefore, you can respond to any Star account.
- Immediate response to a customer concern. Can respond quickly to any customer issue which arises during your shift.
- Random Task Assignment – any issue which will be difficult for operations to handle, i.e., site vehicle battery is dead or has a flat. May be required to drop by an existing account or prospective account as requested to demonstrate our after-hours quick response capability.
Requirements:
- Prior Law Enforcement or Military experience
- Supervisor experience
- MUST HAVE ARMED LICENSE IN HAND!
