Summary
While upholding the mission, vision and values of Star Valley Health this position is key in assisting patients in meeting their financial obligations through the collection process. This position is responsible for the timeliness and accuracy of posting payment and EOB’s to patient’s accounts. This position is at will.
Job Duties
- Accurately and timely post all cash, checks, credit cards and electronic transferred funds to patients accounts
- Interact with the accounting department to resolve posting issues; completing and balancing batches for posting
- Relationship building with insurance billers to ensure payments, adjustment and reserves are posted in accordance to EOB’s
- Verifies that any patient discounts, payments, payer payments and adjustments have been applied correctly and to the appropriate account number and in accordance to our contracts
- Maintains a minimum of 85% on QA account reviews or completes quality improvement plan
- Monitor and research credits on patient accounts and process refunds when applicable.
- Cross train on other department duties to assist with work load.
- Performs other duties as assigned or identified
Requirements
Skills:
- Professional oral and written communication
- Strong multi-tasking skills with the ease of changing direction upon request and needed
- Empathetic with staff, visitors and community to act as a liaison throughout situations
- Problem solve to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner and gather and analyze information skillfully
- Promote a cooperative and congenial work environment
- Effective computer skills, Microsoft Office and Internet
- Strong data entry
Experience & Education:
- One to two years of billing, coding or accounts receivable background
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Proficient in Microsoft word, excel, outlook, and general internet use.
- General office protocol and equipment use
- Associates Degree in Accounting or Business
- Medical Terminology a plus
- Knowledge of Meditech
Abilities:
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment, communicate effectively, and demonstrate sensitivity to clients, visitors and staff
- Comply with HIPAA and other federal, state and local regulations as well, as maintain the highest degree of confidentiality in client and staff matter
- Excellent organization and prioritization aptitude
- Constant sitting, walking, pushing, pulling, bending and reaching with periodical standing throughout the work day

Pay: $17.20 - $25.81 per hour
