The PCA House Coordinator is directly responsible for ensuring the creation of a safe and healthy environment that fosters communication, a sense of well-being, empowerment and support to the consumers supported by the program. The PCA House Manager is responsible for overall management of their assigned PCA Home with guidance and supervision of a PCA Manager. The PCA House Coordinator will provide direct supervision of the Direct Support Professionals (DSP) in the home they supervise. The PCA House Coordinator will act as a role model for employees regarding the expectations of how the job duties should be performed, the attitude to maintain while at work and appropriate interactions with consumers and other professionals. The PCA House Coordinator will work a scheduled shift, providing direct support and care to those who live in the assigned PCA home.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Attend, participate and coordinate with Support Team at all scheduled Individual Planning meetings, IDT meetings or any special meetings to provide the services/supports identified for each PRS.
  • Work a routine shift, in-house, provide direct training, and support to PRS’ in their identified service and support areas, including necessary transportation using either a company or personal vehicle.
  • Conduct first 40-hour shadow training for new DSPs assigned to the PCAs you are assigned. Training will include routine PRS schedules, protocols and ISSPs. Monitor that DSP training is effective; re-train DSPs as necessary or assigned by PCA Manager and bring personnel issues to PCAM’s attention in a timely manner.
  • Supervise all DSPs in assigned PCA while providing role modeling for staff and PRS’. Ensure that DSPs are adhering to rules and regulations as well as correct policies and procedures.
  • Monitor that DSPs work as assigned and ensure that coverage is obtained for all shifts for all DSP absences with PCAM approval.
  • Complete all grocery and non-food shopping for each PCA.
  • Monitor and complete routine records: attendance, GERs, menus, food inventories, PRS finances, etc. Address quality issues with DSPs as they arise while keeping PCAM informed.
  • Conduct routine record reviews to ensure that all DSPs who cover shifts at assigned PCAs are implementing all ISSPs, Protocols as well as maintaining good medical records for each PRS; addressing issues in these areas as they arise and keeping PCAM informed in case personnel follow up is required.
  • Comply with all agency and State regulatory standards.
  • Conduct routine, weekly assessments of the quality of each PCA site, ensuring that assigned DSPs are maintaining each PCA to quality standards by completing their assigned housekeeping duties and reporting deficiencies to the PCAM.
  • Procure routine maintenance, lawn, pest control, etc. services and repairs as needed for each PCA that are approved by the PCAM.
  • The duties and responsibilities described are not a comprehensive list and that additional tasks may be assigned to the employee from time to time; or the scope of the job may change as necessitated by business demands.

Will be assigned to one of 8 PCA Homes and all work will be from the assigned home.

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Able to work non-traditional, flexible hours.
  • Medication administration certification, CPR, First Aid, and Safety Care training.
  • Experience in working with DD adults preferred.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Must have own telephone or message phone, in order to be reached.
  • Must be able to transport consumers in own or company vehicle, as needed or requested.
  • Reliable transportation. Valid Colorado driver’s license. Personal auto insurance on file.

PERSONAL SKILLS:

  • Able to work as a team member and possesses stress management skills and is dependable.
  • Able to make independent decisions while exhibiting good judgment and displays good communication skills as well as possess leadership qualities.
  • Possesses a basic understanding of Quality Assurance in regards to service provision.
  • Able to recognize the need for training, support or correctional action in regards to the job performance of direct care staff as well as contractors.
  • Able to read and write with good comprehension in order to train direct care staff in all aspects of their job as well as be able to write, read, understand, implement and train ISSP programs.
  • Able to adapt to new and varied situations. Enthusiastic, conscientious. Flexible and organized, with good time management skills,
  • Able to learn and implement budgeting skills as well as oversee consumer personal finances.
  • Understands and displays good documentation and data collecting skills. Willing to learn new skills and tasks. Willing to work in the field and in a variety of settings.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

May be required to carry 50 pounds; to push/pull 100 pounds; lift heavy objects; stand 4 hours per day; walk 4 hours per day, etc.
