About the Role:
State Department Federal Credit Union is seeking a highly skilled Support Service Manager who leads a team responsible for overseeing several key functional areas, including Deceased Account Management, Escheatment Processes, Foreign Currency and Check negotiation, Garnishments/Liens/Writs, IRA and Trust Services, POA/Guardianship/Conservatorship, and Account Maintenance. This role involves strategic planning, daily operations management, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver outstanding service to both internal and external members. The Support Services Manager will work closely with internal teams to automate processes where possible, ensure a member-focused approach, and maintain regulatory compliance.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and related work experience, preferably in the noted functional areas
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in banking operations or relevant fields, with a strong understanding of functional processes and regulations
- Strong understanding of banking regulations, market trends, and compliance issues relevant to the noted functional areas
- Analytical mindset with the ability to identify areas for operational efficiency and process improvement
- Excellent management and organizational skills, with a strong drive for action and results
- Proven communication and collaboration skills, with experience working across multiple departments
- Strong problem-solving skills and resourcefulness, with the ability to resolve complex issues effectively
