The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) Northern Region Highways and Aviation is looking for an Administrative Assistant 3 to help us Keep Alaska Moving!
What you will be doing:
This position provides vital support to the Tok District Superintendent and district staff. It is required to perform technical and paraprofessional duties in multiple administrative functional areas such as budget and financial management, payroll, personnel, travel, accounts payable, and procurement. The incumbent is responsible for the reconciliation and verification of expenditures and projections of an operating budget and multiple federal and state-funded projects. It performs a variety of duties in a dynamic and complex district and also leads the work of an office assistant position.

The working environment you can expect:
This position is located at the DOT&PF main complex in Tok, 123 Tok Cutoff, Tok 99780 . The daily work environment is a quiet office with occasional public traffic. Your main interactions are with local management and equipment operator staff.

Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships while having the flexibility and willingness to work in an environment with changing priorities.
Ability to independently organize and maintain an office environment while prioritizing a large workload.
Ability to explain and apply policies, procedures, bargaining contracts, and instructions for a wide variety of people.
Experience and knowledge of budget procedures, fiscal management and/or basic accounting procedures.
Excellent accuracy, professionalism, and attention to detail with reliable attendance and punctuality.
