State of Alaska is Hiring a Data Processing Manager 2 (Project Portfolio Manager, PCN 16N23087) Near Anchorage, AK

What you will be doing:
As the Data Processing Manager 2 in the Department of Health (DOH) IT Portfolio Management Office, this position is responsible for helping to oversee, control, and support the project management capability of Technology projects. The primary responsibility of this position will assist in the development, oversight, and implementation of the Data Modernization Strategic Plan within the Division of Public Health. The incumbent will support the division in the implementation of the plan, providing strategic planning for IT projects, mentoring of and assistance to division project managers, oversite of the ITS project portfolio, as well as managing IT projects when requested.

The working environment you can expect:
The Department of Health IT has offices in both Juneau and Anchorage. IT PMO staff are currently working a hybrid telework schedule, however it is unknown if this will continue indefinitely. This position is expected to largely work independently and also collaborate with other team members, department staff and vendor partners via in-person, telephonic, and/or electronic means.

Minimum Qualifications
Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with competencies in:

Equivalent to those typically gained by:
Training in information technology or a similar field with progressively responsible professional experience that developed expertise in one or more IT functions and the provision of IT services to business and public users and includes prior supervisory responsibility.
Special Note

“Progressively responsible” means indicating growth and/or advancement in complexity, difficulty, or level of responsibility.
Positions may be identified as being significantly involved in the following options: operations; programming/analysis; specialized support, such as technical services, data communications, data base (DBMS) administration information management, etc. Systems software and hardware used must have been equivalent in size and complexity to computer systems used by the State of Alaska.
