PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Physical Therapist
- Diagnose/Manage movement dysfunction and enhance physical and functional abilities
- Revise treatment plans throughout the treatment process as needed
- Timely/Accurate documentation
- Treat to prevent the onset, symptoms, and progression of impairments, functional limitations, and disabilities
- Take patient history, conduct case reviews, perform tests, and measure to properly identify potential and existing problems
- Advises patients about in-home treatment options and exercises
- Assist with quality assurance and program development
Physical Therapist Assistant
- Assist the Physical Therapist in implementing treatment plans to restore function, improve mobility, and relieve pain.
- Guide and monitor patients through therapeutic exercises and activities, reporting progress to the Physical Therapist.
- Collaborates with the healthcare team to assess, modify, and coordinate treatment plans while educating caregivers and family on therapeutic activities.
- Assist patients with transfers and positioning for treatment, ensuring safety and proper use of therapy equipment.
- Administer therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and modality treatments, including ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and heat/cold therapy, as directed.
- Assess patients' range of motion, body measurements, and vital signs to evaluate treatment effectiveness.
- Oversee equipment operation, track usage, and document treatment administration.
- Assist in fitting patients with orthopedic braces, prosthetics, and mobility aids like crutches.
REQUIREMENTS:
Physical Therapist
- Bachelor/Master of Science in Physical Therapy
Physical Therapy Assistant
- Must be graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program. Current state licensure or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
EXPERIENCE:
Three years of experience in a healthcare setting is desired but not required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Physical Therapist
Must be licensed to practice as a Physical Therapist in the State of Tennessee.
Physical Therapist Assistant
Must be licensed to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the State of Tennessee.
