Salary: $4,155 per month (SR-16, Step D)

This recruitment will be used to establish a list of qualified candidates to fill the current vacancy position and may be used to fill future vacancies as they occur.

Duties Summary

This class is the entry trainee level in the Investigator series. The Investigator I receives orientation and formal and on-the-job training in the investigative field; learns basic investigative techniques and procedures, as well as laws, rules and regulations pertaining to an agency's jurisdiction; receives simple and routine assignments; and performs other related duties as assigned.

The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State shall be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.

Basic Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.

Excess investigative professional work experience or any other progressively responsible administrative, professional or other analytical work experience which provided knowledge, skills and abilities comparable to those acquired in four years of successful study while fulfilling a prescribed college curriculum leading to a baccalaureate degree may be substituted for the required Education on a year-for-year basis.

The education or experience background must have demonstrated the ability to write clearly and comprehensively materials such as reports and analyses; read and interpret complex written material; perform research; and solve complex problems logically and systematically.

Driver's License: Some positions require a valid driver's license at the time of appointment.
