Key Responsibilities
Interns will assist certified instructors in teaching any of the following areas:
- Orientation and Mobility: Techniques for navigating independently using canes, landmarks, and sensory cues.
- Home Management: Cooking, cleaning, and organizing using adaptive methods.
- Braille Literacy: Learning and teaching Braille for communication and daily tasks.
- Keyboarding with JAWS and/or Zoom Text: Skills for computer use with screen readers and magnification software.
- Assistive Technology: Exploring devices and tools that enhance accessibility and independence.
Interns will also engage in lesson planning, observe instruction, and have the opportunity to lead small-group or one-on-one sessions under supervision.
