Stealth Communications is Hiring a Senior Spacecraft Systems Engineer Near Honolulu, HI

Stealth Communications is seeking highly qualified individuals for multiple Senior Spacecraft Systems Engineer positions within our systems engineering teams based in Honolulu, HI. These teams support our Space Systems division and lead cutting-edge programs at Stealth. The role involves developing and maintaining technical budgets, defining requirements, planning and executing tests, and managing the overall systems engineering process. Additionally, engineers will work hands-on with flight hardware and drive the technical development of our Space Systems missions.

This position requires security clearance and is based onsite in Honolulu, HI.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain technical budgets for vehicle performance.
  • Define and verify system requirements.
  • Conduct simulations and analyses across vehicle functions.
  • Plan, execute, and analyze test methods and data.
  • Lead and manage technical development of spacecraft missions.
  • Assist with program and product management.
  • Collaborate on interface specifications, CONOPS definitions, and other design documents.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure integration and alignment with overall mission goals.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support the development and execution of integration and verification plans.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers.
  • Prepare and present technical reports and documentation to stakeholders.
  • Manage vendor and supplier relationships to ensure quality and performance.

Qualifications

  • Required: Must possess an active, transferable TS/SCI CI Poly U.S. government-issued security clearance before starting.
  • Minimum of 13 years of engineering experience in the aerospace industry.
  • PhD in software, computer, electrical, aerospace, mechanical, or other relevant engineering disciplines.
  • Experience in supporting satellite or spacecraft development programs.
  • Comprehensive understanding of spacecraft subsystems and components, including attitude determination and control (ADCS), electrical power systems (EPS), space-ground communications, on-orbit command and data handling (C&DH), and thermal control.
  • In-depth knowledge of the space environment, orbital mechanics, and rigid body dynamics.
  • Proficiency in Assembly, C , MATLAB, Python, and STK.
  • Experience with requirement management tools such as Cameo, JAMA, or DOORS.
  • Experience with satellite operations.
  • Familiarity with testing electrical subsystems and assemblies, thermal vacuum or random vibration, and hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) testing.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and strategically.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with competing priorities.
  • Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
  • Regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, operate a computer keyboard and controls, and communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Willingness to travel to support business needs.
  • Occasional exposure to dust, fumes, and moderate noise levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage complex technical projects.
  • Experience with project management tools and methodologies.
  • Capable of independent work and collaboration within a diverse and multidisciplinary team, including scientists, engineers, business professionals, and ex-military personnel.
