Steeler Inc has branches serving across the Western United States and Canada year-round.
We are looking for someone to assist our sales team with their bids. A bid specialist’s role is to ensure that bids are successful at a price at which Steeler can make a profit. You will need to be well-versed each locations construction supply needs and be the supportive and important role in the finalization of sales. The Bidding Specialist will be responsible for managing bid requests from our branch network, preparing accurate and competitive quotes, and leveraging our bidding software/ERP system to ensure the best possible pricing. This role requires proficiency in Excel, decent mathematical skills, and strong communication abilities for interacting with branch personnels.
Responsibilities:
- Bid Management: Receive and review bid requests from various branches, ensuring all necessary information is collected.
- Bidding Software & ERP Utilization: Expertly navigate and use the company’s bidding software & ERP system to generate accurate quotations and manage bid information.
- Quote Preparation: Calculate and prepare detailed and competitive quotations based on project specifications and market condition.
- Pricing Strategy: Develop pricing strategies that offer the best value to the company while remaining competitive in the market.
- Collaboration: Work closely with branch offices to gather information and provide support throughout the bidding process.
- Memorization: Manage and recall a wide range of part numbers and materials, including steel framing components and other construction materials like drywall and mud, to ensure accurate bidding and quotations.
- Reporting: Maintain reports on bid performance, pricing trends, and market analysis to support strategic decision-making.
