What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Accountant position at Stellar Health?
About the position:
We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our Finance Team! This person will play an integral role in keeping our business on track by proficiently managing essential Accounting responsibilities, including ensuring our expenses are paid and our revenues are collected. We are looking for someone who has experience taking the day-to-day responsibilities of their role one step further by identifying process improvements, leveraging technology and automating systems to support company growth.
What you’ll do:
- Drive process improvements and efficiencies for areas of responsibility, including connecting and automating various systems and maintaining these systems thereafter
- Manage the full Accounts Payable process, including maintaining accurate vendor records, coding and posting invoices, obtaining sufficient documentation and approvals, and servicing as the primary contact for both vendor and employee inquiries
- Review and process employee expense reports and ensure compliance with the Company business travel and expense policy.
- Review and process credit card transactions, post the correct descriptions and coding, and obtain documentation and support in accordance with the Company corporate card policy
- Manage the full Accounts Receivable process, including follow-up inquiries, analyze aging reports to identify trends and patterns causing missed collections, and collaborate with our Growth team to solve problems through this analysis
- Lead or assist on ad-hoc projects as needed (e.g. tax compliance, system implementations, audits)
As a Staff Accountant you should have:
- Experience or strong interest to learn and grow in an Accounting role
- Some Accounting and/or Finance Education (although a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance is not mandatory)
- Project management skills to automate and integrate various accounting systems (ideally including NetSuite, Bill.com, Ramp, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of Excel (filtering, VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, etc)

Pay:
The salary range for this role is $90,000 - $115,000 and will be eligible for an equity grant and an annual performance based bonus. Where a new hire falls within this range will be based on their individual skills and experience, and how these competencies compare across other employees in the same role. Stellar's bands are designed to allow for individual compensation growth within the role. As such, new hires typically start at the lower end of the range. Stellar rewards performance and outcomes - should you join the company, you will have the opportunity to grow your salary over time.
