The newly created Company, FerroWorks, has locations in Pittsburgh, McKees Rocks, and Kutztown, PA including McConway and Torley and Standard Forged, which have been in continuous operations since 1869, the same year the first US transcontinental railroad was completed. As McConway is the original designers of the first standard automatic coupler, continued innovation and craftsmanship have and has led to a product line that includes every ARR approved coupler as well as custom coupler solutions, which are all proudly cast in the US.
FerroWorks is currently searching for an Engineering Manager. In this role you will to lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers in the design, analysis, and optimization of Steel based products. If you have a strong technical background with expertise in 3D modeling, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), and Steel Solidification Analysis, we want to hear from you. Your team will be focused on product development, design optimization, and simulation analysis. You will oversee the application of advanced engineering tools and methodologies, including Creo (3D modeling), ANSYS (FEA), and MAGMAsoft ensuring the successful design and analysis of high-quality engineering solutions. This role also involves managing project timelines, collaborating cross-functionally, and mentoring engineers to develop their technical and professional skills. Some of your Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading and mentoring a team of engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture
- Cultivating a work environment focused on innovation, accountability, and mutual respect
- Leading the team in applying 3D modeling principles using Creo (or similar tools) to design complex components and assemblies
- Overseeing the application of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) techniques using ANSYS (or equivalent) for structural, thermal, and fluid dynamics simulations
- Ensuring alignment between engineering design and production processes, emphasizing the integration of simulation data into design decisions
- Developing and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans
- Communicating complex technical concepts and analysis results effectively to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring transparency and understanding
- Driving continuous improvement in engineering processes and simulation workflows, ensuring the adoption of best practices in modeling, analysis, and design

Required Qualifications
- 7 or more years of experience in product design, simulation and analysis in an industrial setting, preferably in Steel or related manufacturing industry
- At least 2 years of direct, or indirect leadership experience
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 25%
Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Experience doing 3D Modeling with CREO or similar tools
- Deep understanding of Finite Element Analysis
- Experience using Ansys or similar tools
- Experience with Steel Solidification Analysis, using Magma soft or similar
Education:
- Bachelor s degree in Engineering, or a related field is required
- Additional certifications are a plus
- Equivalent Combination of Education and Experience may be considered
