We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Accounts Payable and Allocation Lead to join our administrative team. This role is vital in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial processes and expense allocations across multiple contracts and projects.
Position Summary:
The Accounts Payable and Allocation Lead is responsible for processing payables, coding expense allocations, and collaborating with departments to optimize accounting processes. This highly technical position serves as the primary expense allocation point of contact across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure appropriate allocation and documentation for processing payments.
- Collaborate with departments to develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and improve cost-effectiveness related to accounting functions.
- Accurately enter accounts payable transactions, maintaining consistent coding allocations for multiple projects and contracts.
- Ensure compliance with organizational and enterprise-level software mandates for accounting processes.
- Process payments for monthly and recurring expenses, including rental payments and employee expense reports.
- Serve as the lead support for various audits and audit preparation.
- Monitor and analyze accounting workflows to develop more efficient procedures and resource usage while maintaining high accuracy.
- Assist with budget preparation for corporate and departmental needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of office management systems and procedures.
- Excellent time management and multitasking abilities.
- Attention to detail and effective problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office 365.
- Experience with enterprise accounting software such as Sage Intacct or Netsuite.
Qualifications:
- At least five years of relevant experience, particularly in the nonprofit sector.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to sit, use hands, talk, and hear.
- Frequently required to walk, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Keyboard data entry is required.
