GENERAL FUNCTION:
Under the direct supervision of the CFO, the Accounting Clerk will oversee the financial and general accounting processes for the company.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Finance / Accounting
- Manage accounts receivable, cash requirements, general ledger, and payment processing.
- Handle and reconcile all bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and credit card accounts.
- Participate in the period-end closing process.
- Prepare cash requirements report for each payment run and get approval from CFO.
- Prepare and maintain internal reports as requested by the CFO.
- Track and report on operational performance benchmarks and actual results.
- Perform trend analysis on benchmarking data.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls.
- Act as a liaison between the finance office, closing attorney, contract administrator, and customers for financial transactions.
- Assist with financial statement audits and tax return preparation.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate professionally with customers, employees, and vendors.
- Ability to maintain accurate records, schedules, and financial statements.
- Computer aptitude and willingness to learn and utilize various software for data processing and communication.
- Ability to handle confidential information related to the management of the company.
- Experience in cost accounting, general accounting, and financial analysis.
- Background in manufacturing or distribution is beneficial, as well as experience in a public accounting firm.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel is required.
- Bachelor's degree in an accounting-related field and at least 3 years of relevant experience.
ACCOUNTABILITY MEASUREMENTS:
- Timeliness in processing cost adjustments and providing necessary worksheets for management decision-making.
- Accuracy of financial data.
