Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and compassionate PACU/Pre-Op Registered Nurse (RN) to care for patients in both pre-operative and post-anesthesia settings. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing patients for surgery, monitoring vital signs during recovery, and providing education to patients and families about post-surgical care.
Duties
- Pre-Op Care:
- Prepare patients for surgery, ensuring all pre-operative assessments and tests are completed.
- Provide patient education regarding the surgical procedure, anesthesia, and post-operative recovery.
- Ensure that all documentation is completed and accurate for surgical procedures.
- Communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a smooth transition to the operating room.
- PACU Care:
- Monitor patients recovering from anesthesia, ensuring stable vital signs and addressing any immediate post-operative needs.
- Administer medications, pain management, and interventions as prescribed.
- Educate patients and families about post-operative care and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate patient records and document care provided in the recovery process.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a PACU or Pre-Op setting.
- Inpatient care experience is preferred.
- Ability to manage high-acuity patients in both pre- and post-operative phases.
Requirements
- Active RN license in WA.
- BLS, PALS and ACLS certifications required.
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to provide compassionate care to patients.
