Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Service Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring their needs are met while facilitating effective communication between the service department and clients. This role requires a strong understanding of automotive services, including brake repair, tire service, and air brake systems, alongside excellent customer service skills.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and assess their service needs in a professional manner.
- Accurately document customer requests and relay information to service technicians.
- Provide detailed estimates for services required, including upselling additional services when appropriate.
- Handle cash transactions and maintain accurate records of payments received.
- Follow up with customers regarding the status of their vehicles and any additional services needed.
- Ensure that all service orders are completed accurately and efficiently, maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with mechanics and service technicians to ensure timely completion of repairs and services.
- Maintain an organized workspace and ensure that all customer interactions are documented in the system.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Service Writer or in a similar role within the automotive industry is preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge, particularly in areas such as brake repair, tire service, and air brake systems.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to transmit technical information clearly to customers.
- Proven cash handling experience with attention to detail in financial transactions.
- Ability to upsell services based on customer needs while maintaining trust and integrity.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- A background as a service technician or mechanic is a plus but not required.

Pay: $16.00 - $23.00 per hour
