Job Description:
The Truck Body Lead Technician is responsible for overseeing and performing high-quality body repair on Tractor Trailers. This role requires strong leadership skills to guide a team of technicians, ensure adherence to safety standards, and maintain the highest quality of workmanship.
Please note this position is on-site at Stevens Transport HQ in Dallas, Tx.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, train, and mentor a team of technicians, ensuring the team meets performance and quality goals.
- Evaluate repair work to ensure it aligns with company standards and industry regulations.
- Maintain accurate service records and ensure proper documentation of repairs.
- Communicate effectively with management and company drivers regarding repair progress and any challenges encountered.
- Ensure the shop area is clean, organized, and compliant with safety protocols.
- Monitor and manage inventory of parts and supplies necessary for body repairs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 5 years of experience in truck body repair or a related field.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations in the collision repair industry.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to train and manage a team.
- Experience with Excel and Outlook
Preferred Qualifications
- ASE or I-CAR certification in body repair.
- Experience working in a high-volume fleet maintenance environment.
- Experience repairing Kenworth, Freightliner, Peterbilt body work.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Work Experience:
- Demonstrated history of progressive responsibility in truck body repair.
- Previous leadership experience is strongly preferred.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Additional technical training or certifications in body repair are a plus.
