PLC Machine Operator

Steves & Sons, a door manufacturing company since 1866, is seeking a Machine Operator with PLC experience to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Duties

• Set up machine to start a production cycle
• Control and adjust machine settings (e.g., speed)
• Feed material or parts to semi-automated machines
• Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools
• Test operation of machines periodically
• Read designated reports to determine production requirements
• Obtain correct material
• Use gauges and tape measures to confirm quality in cuts
• Remedy issues that might occur during the shift
• Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws
• Keep records of approved and effective units or final products
• Maintain activity logs
• Comply with company policies and procedures and assist in keeping a safe working environment
• Assist in maintaining a clean and organized facility
• Any other tasks or projects that may be assigned by Supervisor or Manager

Working Conditions

• Work week is Monday – Friday 6:00am until end of production
• Occasional Saturdays are required
• High degree of attention required to prevent injury
• Ability to squat, sit, stand, walk, reach daily and as needed to perform all job functions
• Fast-paced environment
