Who are we? Still Serving Veterans (SSV) is a non-profit organization that provides no-cost career and transition counseling services to Veterans, transitioning military service members, National Guard, Reserves, and military spouses. SSV was established in 2006 and has helped thousands of Veterans successfully enter fulfilling careers. Our counselors are Veterans as well. We offer tailored, 1-to-1 assistance to help clients with job search, resume development, LinkedIn profile creation, interview skills, and more. As a Veteran Career & Transition Services Counselor, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of those who have served our country. What you'll do? Under the direction of the National Program Manager, your duties will include:

• Be the face of our Veteran Career & Transition Services Team to our Veteran clients and supporting organizations.
• Provide personalized career counseling to our clients through one-on-one coaching and virtual support, focusing on resume development, job search strategies, mock interviews, and networking.
• Build a reputation as a trusted expert in Veteran employment and delivering relationship-based assistance to transitioning military personnel, Veterans, Guard and Reserve members, and their spouses.
• Track client progress and report on their success using our SalesForce-based client management system.
• Maintain case files and execute quality control checks to ensure consistent service and data accuracy.
• Support recruitment efforts for new Veteran clients on social media, virtual job fairs, and in-person events.
• Identify, schedule and manage job fairs, hiring events, and other community activities to increase our presence and name recognition within the Huntsville office region and also supporting remote counselors as needed.
• You will be expected to travel at SSV's expense to attend job fairs, or conferences. Generally, two days at a time, up to two or three times a month.

What you bring. Qualifications/Requirements:

• Honorably Discharged Veteran (Guard or Reserve welcome to apply)
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher
• Post-military civilian work experience (in Veteran advocacy preferred)
• Satisfactory background check
• Reliable transportation to/from your home to events within a reasonable distance
• An incredible work ethic and dedication to helping Veterans and their families succeed

Travel expenses are reimbursed with full per diem and POV milage or rental vehicle. Pay for this position begins at $41,000/yr with an increase after 90 days to $43,000/yr.
