Strategic Insight, Ltd. is seeking a Systems Engineer Jr. (Staff Associate) position in support of our Navy client. Job location is Dahlgren, King George, VA.
Mandatory Requirement: Applicants selected for this position may be subject to a Government Security Investigation and must meet eligibility for access to classified information at the Secret clearance level.

Originally established in 1918 as a naval proving ground for testing gun weapon systems, NSWC Dahlgren Division has evolved to focus on advances in technology in Warfare Systems Development and Integration. The NSWC Dahlgren Division is a leading research, development, testing, and engineering (RDT&E) organization within the Department of the Navy.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Review all new requirements to ensure all required information is present,
- Support requirements working group efforts within the user community,
- Review reports that have been generated and provide updates to operating engineers,
- Provide evaluation of draft documentation to ensure minimum standards have been met,
- Work closely with third party vendors, stakeholders, and sponsors through daily duties such as Working Group Meetings, and
- Be located on-site at NSWC Dahlgren - this is a great opportunity to learn something new everyday and work closely with your team leads!
Success for working in this position requires:
- The willingness to gain experience in Systems Engineering, Integration of Combat Systems, Testing, and similar,
- Candidate must understand system lifecycle stages and the latest systems engineering standards,
- The willingness to gain experience in preparing and reviewing technical documentation including but not limited to System Requirements Specifications, Capability Requirement Documents, Capability Production Documents, System Engineering Plans, System Requirements Documents, System Design Documents, Interface Design Documents and Specifications,
- Ability to effectively communicate and work with others at all levels,
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance,
- Ability to work with sensitive and confidential information,
- Self-starter, goal-oriented individual who provides timely feedback on progress made on assignments,
- Excellent organizational skills; ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks, handle complex assignments, and work in a fast-paced environment, and
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Education and Experience:
- BA or BS in a related engineering field is required, and
- Two (2) years experience’ with Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is preferred.
