Summary:
Our manufacturing facility in Atchison, KS is looking for a self-driven, ambitious individual to join our company in the role of Quality Control Manager in our Quality Control department. In this role, you will oversee the Quality Control department and quality control processes, ensuring all products satisfy our high standards of quality, safety, and customer expectations.
The ideal candidate is one who is interested in applying theory to practice in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and has experience in quality control and concrete manufacturing in general. You must be an excellent communicator with strong social skills, and an effective problem solver who is willing to take on challenges and pursue continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
· Supervise Quality Control Technicians to ensure high standards of task completion.
· Allocate work and responsibilities to ensure Quality Control employees collaborate effectively toward common objectives.
· Review the productivity and performance of Quality Control employees to ensure adherence to standards.
· Investigate root causes of quality issues and non-conformances, and develop corrective and preventative action plans.
· Conduct and review scrap reports for poles that do not meet Company standards.
· Conduct regular audits of departments and production lines to ensure compliance with company standards.
· Inspect and approve all incoming orders in the workflow process to ensure they meet quality standards, avoid non-conformances, and ensure compliance.
· Conduct CSA testing and ensure compliance.
· Collect and analyze product sample data, including compiling results in spreadsheets.
· Analyze data to identify trends, variations, and potential quality issues.
· Plan and organize the monthly off-quality program to minimize quality defects.
· Prepare weekly, monthly, and annual reports highlighting production performance and areas for improvement.
· Communicate quality-related issues and findings to management and production teams.
· Recommend and implement alternative auditing procedures to continuously improve quality processes.
· Collaborate with production supervisors to identify training needs and schedule sessions.
· Oversee the training matrix for all team members to ensure proper training and development.
· Maintain accurate training data and conduct training sessions for manufacturing personnel as needed.
· Design and organize effective training programs, including booking locations and conducting workshops and individual sessions.
· Assess training needs and develop appropriate materials such as job appraisals, presentations, and quizzes.
· Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for production departments in accordance with ISO standards.
· Mentor new employees and assist with their integration.
· Always work safely and adhere to all company safety policies.

Educational & Experience:
· Extensive knowledge of quality control and quality assurance is considered an asset.
· Previous experience in a manufacturing, construction, or labor field considered an asset.
· Post-secondary education in engineering or a related field is considered an asset.
· Previous concrete testing experience and any ACI and PCI experience is considered an asset.
· Proficiency in working with Microsoft Office and online software’s is considered an asset.
