Position Summary
The infant and toddler, Part C, early interventionist is a direct service provider working with children and coaching caretakers to carry out interventions between visits. EIs are responsible for assessments, eligibility determination, IFSP development, implementation, and ongoing assessment of services for children with developmental delays. Providers will serve as the primary service provider for the majority of their caseload.
Environmental Conditions
This position requires working indoors, in family homes, office and daycare settings the majority of the time with occasional outside duties. The individual must be able to withstand various noise levels from groups of children. The individual must be able to tolerate moderate levels of mental and emotional stress. The individual must be capable of assessing situations that may pose potential risks and respond with appropriate precautions. This position requires a valid driver’s license, valid vehicle insurance, and a reliable car.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Exercise sound judgment, creativity and sensitivity;
- Educational and therapeutic knowledge for children birth to age three;
- Demonstrate self-initiation in performing responsibilities and the ability to complete job functions without direct supervision;
- Thorough working knowledge and understanding of IDEA Part C and eligibility of Part B;
- Must be able to get on and off of the floor and move around with ease;
- Must be able to lift 30 pounds independently and over 30 pounds with assistance.
Supervision
Receive direct supervision from the STRIDE Learning Center Infant and Toddler,Part C, Assistant Director and general direction from the Executive Director.
Required Education/Certification and Experience
This position requires at a minimum a Bachelor’s degree. Preference is given to a Master’s, or Doctorate Degree in one or more of the following; ECSE, PT, OT, SLP. State licensure is also required as per state guidelines. Current CPR and First Aid certification is required. Three years of experience in early intervention, special education or a related field is preferred but not required.
The individual must pass a tuberculin (TB) risk assessment for employment. The individual must pass a child abuse/neglect Central Registry check and criminal background prescreen.

70% Home Visits and required documentation including Medicaid notes;
10% Evaluations;
10% Enter data in the required state database system;
5% Collaborated with team members;
5% Participate in Part C staffing, all staff meetings, peer groups meetings, and transition planning.
