Strike is Hiring a Corporate Counsel Near Spring, TX

Strike Operating Company LLC is seeking a Corporate Counsel to join its legal team on site in Spring, Texas. The Corporate Counsel will provide legal expertise to Strike’s family of companies on supply chain and strategic sourcing and procurement initiatives, supplier agreements, contract review and negotiation and other legal matters. Strike is a rapidly growing energy services provider with over 1,500 employees and multiple locations throughout the country.

Primary Job Functions:

  • Manage procurement/supply chain contract negotiations, including substantial day-to-day negotiating responsibilities for a wide range of agreements, including master service agreements, project agreements, purchase orders, work orders, confidentiality agreements, licensing agreements, equipment rental agreements, purchasing agreements, and purchase order terms and conditions.
  • Manage real estate transactions, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial leases, subleases, licenses, and sales or other dispositions of real estate, and ensure compliance with ongoing lease requirements.
  • Analyze and interpret sourcing and procurement transactions to ensure compliance, consistency, and legal risk mitigation.
  • Work closely with senior management to develop, implement, and enforce corporate governance and risk management policies, as well as company policies, procedures, and guidelines for compliance with applicable laws, orders, rules, and regulations, including those related to environmental laws and administrative laws.
  • Provide ongoing assistance to project management teams to ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and legal requirements for services performed and adherence to company protocols in handling incidents and issues.
  • Provide legal counsel, contract drafting, and negotiation for management in a variety of legal areas including all manner of third-party contracts, risk management, construction law and liens, real estate law, employment law, commercial disputes, and a wide range of corporate and commercial matters.
  • Perform all other assignments and projects as requested by the company.

Experience:

  • Required experience in the Construction or similar field; Supply chain / Subcontractor / Supplier / Vendor agreements.
  • Comfort with multi-level organizational leadership, managing external partners and resources, working across multiple departments, and working with senior management.
  • Ability to work independently without oversight and take initiative to solve problems and improve processes as needed.
  • Excellent negotiating, drafting, and communication skills.
  • Strong customer service attitude and ability to view role from greater business perspective.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

Education/Training:

  • J.D. Degree with a minimum of five to seven years of relevant legal experience.
  • Required to be admitted to the bar and in good standing in Texas or admitted to the bar and in good standing in another state and eligible for licensure as in-house counsel in Texas.
  • Experience with sophisticated supply chain and procurement program is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working within a law firm or in-house legal department for a minimum of five years.

  • Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Accuracy, timeliness, tact, problem-solving skills, and ability to work effectively with both employees and managers.
  • Respect for confidentiality concerning customer information and company records.
  • Convey a positive and professional image to customers and peers.
  • Excellent negotiating, drafting, and communication skills.
