The assistant director will perform administrative duties and assist in the supervision and management of instructional staff as well as support high school career counseling. The administrative duties performed will be guided by the executive director. The assistant director will assist in school operations, including but not limited to working with parents, students and teachers on issues that may arise; supporting data-driven instruction and guiding teachers accordingly; meeting with students to ensure they on their desired career path; as well as supporting spreading Valor Arizona’s name in the local community.
Primary duties and responsibilities:
- Continue to grow in the understanding of hybrid and competency-based learning through books, webinars etc.
- Perform administrative duties as directed by the executive director.
- Lead the school wide PBIS program.
- Support teachers in developing Playlists aligned to school goals and implement station rotation.
- Assist in the supervision and evaluation of instructional staff.
- Maintain the school wide MTSS process and bring actionable data to the weekly PLC.
- Work with the Counselor to create graduation recovery plans for any students at risk for not graduating or being promoted to the next grade.
- Develop and maintain a system of recognition for students who exemplify the Valor empowerments.
- Work Directly with the Operations Manager to deliver the NWEA/Growth data testing.
- Ensure the 45 day screeners are completed on time
- Assist the Counselor in
- Offer innovative solutions for growth within the framework of our program.
- Assist in working with students, parents, and teachers on issues related to student performance, student behavioral issues, instructional methodologies, and parent concerns.
- Work directly with teachers and staff to stay aligned to the instructional model.
- Assist with discipline issues at the school.
- Guide and implement the Valor 101/102.
- Assist in overseeing state testing.
- Find paths for Student Teachers to come to Valor.
- Inform the Executive Director’s evaluation through walk-through data.
- Interact with students on break and on Fridays to build relationships.
- Assist school administration in the areas of emergency procedures, and overall school operations.
- Support the Counselor in managing the successful completion of ECAP.
- Connect with local agencies including colleges, trade school, and military to share paths for our students.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education/Training:
- Highly qualified or certified in subject area
- Arizona Principal or School Administration certification preferred.
- Current valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Teaching experience in an online K-12 environment
