ASSOCIATE ENGINEER
Scope of Position
This position is intended for an onsite, entry level valve engineer. Must have a desire to learn quickly and be ready and willing to support the needs of the business in whatever role is needed. This is a hands-on position working in the manufacturing environment, and will have opportunities to grow in technical knowledge and aptitude in engineering design and product development.

ASSOCIATE ENGINEER

Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform tasks associated with new design opportunities to enhance assigned products and reduce cost and/or lead times to plan
- Provides engineering and technical support to the manufacture of equipment, repairs, parts and service activities to meet the needs of SPC and our customers
- Generates bills of materials, assembly and manufacturing drawings for standardized products
- Provides assistance/support to manufacturing and assist in Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) efforts.
- Conducts basic engineering analysis under supervision.
- Understands conceptual design and develops detailed component designs using basic engineering tools
- Applies engineering principles in design activities.
- Basic understanding of the product development process
- Translates customer needs into basic technical requirements given clearly defined customer specifications.
- Demonstrate the ability and willingness to be a team player.
- Able to act quickly and show a strong sense of urgency.
- Regular attendance is an essential function of the position.
- This position is on-site at our facility in Houston (near 290 & Beltway 8)
- Gain knowledge of ASME, ANSI, ISA, and other control valve standards.
- Gain working Knowledge of ERP and PDM systems
- Learn the manufacturing process and be exposed to other departments
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent and/or 2 years related experience
- Exceptional communication and relationship skills across all functional areas
- Experience with Microsoft Office products
- Experience with CAD and Solid Works
- Engineering tolerancing
- Basic project management skills
- Accountability and execution for completing work timely and to specifications
