Optician:
Summit Lakes Eye Care has an immediate opening for an optician who is highly motivated and detail-oriented. The Eyewear Consultant is primarily responsible for assisting the patient in the very best, and stylish eyeglasses to fit their needs. The optician will also have rotating duties related to lab/adjustments of eyewear The ideal candidate will have experience or an interest in the healthcare field with outstanding people skills. We are always willing to train the right individual.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Pre-screen patients before they see the optometrist, including the administration of the diagnostic tests
- Assess and interpret patient’s needs/wants based upon prescription requirements, facial features, lifestyle, and occupation, and suggest the most appropriate products (i.e. frames, lens type, coatings)
- Inspect the final product for accuracy using a manual lensometer and adjust completed glasses to fit the patients
- Adjust/repair damaged eyewear
- Understand and process vision insurance claims
- Train patients on proper contact lens use and care
- Proficiency with computers and websites
- Strong communication skills
- Commitment to excellent patient care
