This role involves implementing optimal sourcing strategies and leading a provider relationship management program with strategic providers, in collaboration with partners and the procurement team, to support organization needs effectively.
Role And Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of procurement professionals and be responsible for the day-to-day successful operations of the team, ensuring a high level of customer service with business users across the Company.
- Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for Procurement Operations and procurement team members.
- Build and execute global and local sourcing strategies for multiple spend categories in scope of responsibility, specifically for R&D, Clinical, Manufacturing, and commercial organization, operating with a truly global prospective.
- Develop and manage preferred and other key supplier contracts, negotiate favorable business terms and conditions.
- Maintain strong cross functional relationships to bolster communication with internal and external stakeholders
- Responsible for the development, documentation, implementation, and maintenance of the company’s P2P policies and procedures
- Develop and oversee a procurement training program for existing and new employees.
- Perform risk assessment of suppliers and develop mitigation tactics for those risk elements
- Gain an understanding of a project or initiative upfront such that related purchases can be identified and aggregated to track against budget
- Partner with internal customers on quotes, contract reviews and negotiating terms and conditions and pricing
- Primary responsibility is contract drafting, negotiation, management and administration.
- Creates, analyzes, updates, and manages Company contract records in the contract management system.
- Reviews contract records for completeness and accuracy.
- Works with Procurement, Finance, IP, and IT to streamline the contract process and integrate information with other functional area needs.
- Manages life cycle of contracts from contract request through expiration/termination/extension.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, and supplier management, preferably in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
- Proven track record of leading procurement initiatives, driving cost savings, and optimizing supply chain processes.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence and persuade stakeholders at all levels.
- Solid understanding of regulatory requirements, quality standards, and industry best practices in procurement and supply chain management.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and build strong relationships with internal and external partners.
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools (e.g., ERP systems, e-procurement platforms) is desirable.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
