Job Description: Accountant II

Location: Houston, TX, 77049

The Accountant II is responsible for maintaining financial records and ensuring that financial transactions are properly recorded. They ensure the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconcile subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger. The Accountant II prepares balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports. They analyze current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain financial records and ensure that financial transactions are properly recorded
• Ensure the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconcile subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger
• Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports
• Analyze current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
• 2-4 years of related experience
• May require eligibility to sit for Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam
• Typically reports to a supervisor or manager
• Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work
• Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function
