General Responsibilities: This position provides information, counseling, and referral services in an individual and/or group setting, for assigned clients and families to contribute to their rehabilitation and to the physical and mental health of the clients of Sunrise Community Substance Use Disorder. Provide on-site coverage and crisis intervention when necessary.

Essential Functions: (Tasks, Responsibilities, and Competencies. May not include all duties of this job)
- Provide chemical dependency therapy and case management services to clients.
- Assess clients’ presenting problems, formulate individualized treatment plans, apply appropriate treatment modalities, assess, monitor and document clients’ response to clinical interventions. Evaluate treatment effectiveness and revise treatment plans regularly.
- When appropriate, provide chemical dependency services in group settings and individual treatment.
- For clients whose symptoms may be managed through appropriate use of psychotropic medications, make referrals to the Sunrise Psychiatric & Professional Services (SPPS) prescriber for medication management consultation.
- Provide crisis intervention and consultation by phone as needed.
- Provide offsite screening and assessment services.
- Coordinate inpatient and detox placement services as appropriate.
- Submit timely written evaluations and reports as necessary on behalf of clients.
- Provide accurate and timely program reports in compliance with requirements of regulatory and industry agencies and Sunrise Services.
- Work across agencies and disciplines, and as a part of a multi-disciplinary therapeutic team.
- Attend consultation meetings with Substance Use Disorder Supervisor on a regular basis.
- Communicate with clients and family members to obtain information regarding consumer’s needs and objectives, interests, skills, and support systems.
- Act as a backup for other team members.
- Maintain client records in keeping with agency and regulatory guidelines.
- Attend continuing education training as required by state regulations and Sunrise policies.
- Uphold ethical standards of profession as described by NAADAC.
- Maintain professional licensure and continuing education requirements.
Essential Requirements: (Any Equivalent Combination of Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, and Experience)
- Education: An associate’s degree in human services or related field from an approved school. Or successful completion of ninety quarter or sixty semester college credits in courses from an approved school.
- Experience : Experience in a Behavioral Health Care setting, with significant experience working with adults who have chemical dependency and mental health issues.
- Licensure/Certification: Required: Substance Use Disorder Professional certification
- Other Considerations :
- DSHS background clearance required.
- Current valid Washington State Driver’s License.
- Skill using Microsoft Office products including Word and Outlook.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, and demonstrated leadership ability.
- Flexible. Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment in challenging dynamic situations including behavioral and staffing issues.
- Skill in reading, synthesizing, and acting upon multifaceted information.
Compensation:
- $28 - $36.53/hour
- Wages are determined by applicable industry experience, education, and certifications/licensure
