Sunshine Disposal & Recycling has a job opening for a full time Container / Cart delivery Driver in our Lewiston, ID business unit. Job duties include operation of delivery truck in residential and commercial locations, load and unload carts / containers, and general maintenance of cart / container storage yard. Current Wage is $18.00 per hour and is subject to annual COLA. Job shift is Monday-Friday 6 : 30 am to 3 : 00 pm. Basic computer literacy is required, and OJT is provided for company specific work systems. This job requires a US DOT Medical card. Applicants must meet insurability requirements and comply with all US DOT drug screening rules. Two(2) years commercial driving of similar vehicles experience preferred. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each of the essential duties / responsibilities listed below.
1. Arrives to work on time and receives paperwork and tablet with daily work assignments. Performs Pre-trip inspection of the truck to make sure everything is operating correctly, maintenance is not necessary, and all equipment / systems are safe to operate. Completes DVIR form in accordance with state, local, and federal regulations.
2. Loads containers and / or carts onto trailer for safe transport.
3. Drives truck on various routes / roads within the county in accordance with all local, state, and federal laws / regulations.
4. Communicates effectively with dispatch and Route Supervisor throughout the day to ensure that there are no issues with deliveries for the particular day.
5. Delivers container / carts to customer locations. Unloads from trailer and places where instructed. Documents any obstacles or issues with location placement using tablet or paper records.
6. Performs vehicle post trip of the after work is completed and driver has returned to terminal for the day, completes post-trip DVIR and lets the Route Supervisor and / or Mechanic know of any maintenance items.
7. Washes / cleans carts and containers as needed prior to delivery. Keeps container / cart yard clean and organized.
8. Attends all necessary meetings at Sunshine Disposal as required.
9. Performs all other duties as assigned.
Requirements :
Education / Experience : To perform this job successfully, an individual must have :
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
