Resident Support Staff

Overview
The Resident Support Staff plays a vital role in providing compassionate care and support to residents in personal care homes, retirement homes, and long-term care facilities. This position requires a dedicated individual who is committed to upholding resident rights and ensuring a safe, nurturing environment for individuals. The Resident Support Staff will work closely with residents to promote their well-being and enhance their quality of life.

Duties

• Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, grooming, and mobility support.
• Ensure the safety and comfort of residents by monitoring their physical and emotional well-being.
• Implement behavior management strategies as directed by healthcare professionals.
• Provide companionship and engage residents in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and cognitive stimulation.
• Uphold resident rights by maintaining confidentiality and treating all individuals with dignity and respect.
• Lift and transfer residents safely as needed, following proper techniques to prevent injury.
• Administer first aid when necessary and report any health concerns to the appropriate medical staff.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop individualized care plans that address the unique needs of each resident.

Skills

• Experience in personal care homes or long-term care settings is preferred.
• Knowledge of resident rights and the ability to advocate for those rights effectively.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with residents, families, and team members.
• Ability to manage challenging behaviors with patience and understanding.
• Certification in first aid is a plus; willingness to obtain certification if not already held.
• Physical capability to lift, transfer, and assist residents as required for their care.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• Rotating weekends

Shift availability:

• Day Shift (Preferred)
• Night Shift (Preferred)

Ability to Commute:

• Mount Gilead, NC 27306 (Preferred)

Ability to Relocate:

• Mount Gilead, NC 27306: Relocate before starting work (Required)
