The Resident Support Staff plays a vital role in providing compassionate care and support to residents in personal care homes, retirement homes, and long-term care facilities. Duties
- Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, grooming, and mobility support.
- Ensure the safety and comfort of residents by monitoring their physical and emotional well-being.
- Implement behavior management strategies as directed by healthcare professionals.
- Provide companionship and engage residents in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and cognitive stimulation.
- Uphold resident rights by maintaining confidentiality and treating all individuals with dignity and respect.
- Lift and transfer residents safely as needed, following proper techniques to prevent injury.
- Administer first aid when necessary and report any health concerns to the appropriate medical staff.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop individualized care plans that address the unique needs of each resident.
Skills
- Experience in personal care homes or long-term care settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of resident rights and the ability to advocate for those rights effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with residents, families, and team members.
- Ability to manage challenging behaviors with patience and understanding.
- Certification in first aid is a plus; willingness to obtain certification if not already held.
- Physical capability to lift, transfer, and assist residents as required for their care.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
