Automotive Police Up-Fit Technician

Superior Automotive Group is seeking dedicated and motivated technicians to join our exceptional Upfit Team in Lowell, AR!

As part of our Upfit Team, you will be responsible for proficiently installing a diverse range of automotive products that include but are not limited to emergency lighting, mobile computer systems, police/fire radios, partitions, prisoner transport units, and various other specialized equipment into police, fire, rescue, and other applicable vehicles.

Your primary duties will include:

• Precise Installation: Following written or verbal instructions, product samples, work orders, schematics, or blueprints to ensure the accurate installation of equipment in vehicles according to customer specifications.
• Custom Fabrication: Utilizing available materials to fabricate custom mounts and installations, demonstrating a high level of skill and creativity.
• Detailed Workmanship: Carefully cutting or drilling to properly mount equipment as required, ensuring a meticulous fit and finish.
• Electrical Expertise: Wiring accessories proficiently to ensure proper functionality and compliance with customer guidelines.
• Collaborative Approach: Working cohesively within a team to expedite job completion while maintaining quality standards.
• Safety and Cleanliness: Upholding a clean and safe work environment, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Experience and Education: Minimum of 1 years of Service Technician experience; prior dealership experience is advantageous. High school diploma or equivalent is required. ASE Certification is preferred, but not mandatory.
• Technical Expertise: Proficiency in diagnostic, electrical, and engine repair is beneficial but not obligatory. A steady hand, excellent hand-eye coordination, and mechanical troubleshooting skills are essential.
• Customer Interaction: Strong customer service skills, basic computer competencies, and an enthusiastic, friendly demeanor are highly valued.
• Adaptability and Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, team-oriented environment, collaborating with colleagues and customers to meet and exceed expectations.
• Learning Agility: Willingness and ability to adapt to new technologies, repair and service procedures, and specifications.
• Driver's Qualifications: Valid driver's license and a clean driving record are mandatory. Drivers must be 21 years or older due to insurance requirements.

Additional Qualifications:

• Negotiable Starting Pay: We offer competitive pay with negotiable starting rates based on experience and skills.
• Technical Expertise: Experience in 12-volt wiring and electrical installations is advantageous.
• Adaptability and Learning: Willingness and ability to follow verbal directions and learn new installation techniques, demonstrating the flexibility to modify and adapt according to evolving requirements.
• Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail is essential in this role, ensuring precise and accurate installations.
