What are the responsibilities and job description for the Emergency Medical Dispatcher position at Superior Mobile Health?
NIGHT SHIFT:
18:00 -06:00
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
· Operating an EMS Computer-Aided Dispatching console of a multi-button telephone system and a computer terminal.
· Answer incoming calls and extract necessary information from callers, enter the relevant information into a call-intake screen, and communicate that information to Dispatcher personnel.
· Transfer other customers to the appropriate extension/staff member(s).
· Address customer concerns and provide alternative solutions, as necessary.
· Respond to, document, and record calls for service received through various other means of electronic communication.
· Ensure that all appropriate notes are documented properly.
· Contacts outside agencies to coordinate aid if needed.
· Maintain confidentiality regarding any patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations, as well as any sensitive company and employee information.
· Experience in medical terminology preferred, but not necessary as training will be provided.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:
· High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
· General knowledge of locations of highways and main streets.
· Strong ability to multi-task and maintain composure and decision-making skills during times of great stress.
· Work mornings, afternoons, weekends, and holidays to maintain 24-hour coverage of the emergency dispatch system (as designated by schedule)
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
· Preferred experience as an EMT.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Working conditions are in an office environment. Physical requirements include lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally. Subject to sitting, standing and walking for long periods of time.
