Job Summary:
As a Fry Cook at the Hawaii Convention Center, you will play a crucial role in preparing and cooking a variety of food items to perfection, with a focus on fried dishes. Your primary responsibilities will include operating deep fryers and other kitchen equipment, maintaining cleanliness and safety standards, and collaborating with the culinary team to deliver high-quality food to our guests. This position requires a passion for cooking, a commitment to food safety, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook food items according to recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines.
- Operate and maintain deep fryers and other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Ensure all food items are cooked and served at the correct temperatures.
- Work closely with the culinary team to manage food inventory and minimize waste.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Assist with menu planning and the introduction of new dishes.
- Provide exceptional service to ensure a positive guest experience.
- Participate in ongoing culinary training and development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Fry Cook or a similar role in a high-volume kitchen preferred.
- Knowledge of proper food handling, storage, and sanitation standards.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift to 50 pounds.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

- High school diploma or equivalent; culinary training is a plus
