What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Events Crew- Hawaii Convention Center Overnight Shift position at Superior Staffing & Services?
Summary/Objective
Performs a variety of meeting space set-up tasks, mostly of a skilled nature, which often involve the use of physical strength. In this position you are responsible for providing standard meeting space sets per customer specification and Hawaii Convention Center quality assurance standards. You are responsible for understanding the organization and subscribing to its commitment to customer excellence. Manual labor is primarily performed but, on some occasions, power tools may be used. Work is performed individually, or in-groups, under the close supervision of Event Services Supervisors and/or Event Services Team Leaders.
Working Hours: Part-Time
Overnight Shift: Must be available during the following shifts (10:00p.m. - 6:00 a.m.)
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Completes meeting room set-ups to include checking floors, windows, ledges, lights, stains, soils, tears, feet of chairs, linen, table and stage skirts.
- Performs room set up, tear down, changes and turns
- Performs all changes as needed according to client needs and/or management direction
- Provides and places water service for meeting room head tables, podiums and coolers.
- Provides and places linens in meeting spaces and shows management offices as requested.
- Refreshes meeting rooms to include adjusting furniture, table skirts, removing trash and changing out dirty glasses.
- Loads and unloads supplies and materials.
Requirements & QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be able to work varied shifts, weekdays, weekends, holidays and additional hours as venue schedule requires.
- Must effectively adapt to a changing environment and direction to execute client and/or management needs.
- Must be able to lift/carry 51-100 pounds.
- Must be able to move about frequently and work in difficult positions.
- This includes frequent sitting, standing, walking, climbing, twisting/bending/stooping, reaching, use of fine finger movements, hand/eye coordination, pushing and pulling.
- High School Diploma or equivalent; AND
- Experience in set-up activities; OR
- Any combination of related experience, training and/or education.
- Experience reading and understanding basic floor plans.
